Bitácora

Bitácora is an exhibition conceived as a system for questioning practice and creative endeavor, revaluing creative practice and finding meaning in work through the experience of the continuous act of its execution.

Thus, experience — constituted by the development and accumulation of moments of execution and plastic exercise — enables the establishment of a strategic relationship and perspective on the procedures faced by the subject in the development of artistic creation.

Starting from the principle of accumulating and materializing moments of productive execution on the work support, the various materials used — such as newspaper, wood, or MDF board — are intervened through different procedures (saw, drill, or chisel), continuously and constantly modifying their surface.

Thus, the material and its residues are presented as product and document of the activity's exercise, recording each moment of plastic execution and showing the evidence of action on its surface.

Bitácora es una exposición que se plantea como un sistema de cuestionamiento de la práctica y del quehacer creativo, al revalorizar la práctica creativa y encontrar sentido en el trabajo por medio de la experiencia en el hecho continuo de su ejecución.

Es así que la experiencia, constituida por el desarrollo y acumulación de momentos de ejecución y ejercicio plástico, permite el establecimiento de una relación estratégica y perspectiva de los procedimientos a los que se enfrenta el sujeto en el desarrollo de creación artística.

Partiendo del principio de acumular y materializar momentos de ejecución productiva sobre el soporte de trabajo los distintos materiales utilizados, como el periódico, madera o lámina de MDF, son intervenidos mediante distintos procedimientos (sierra, taladro o cincel) modificando de manera continua y constante su superficie.

Así, el material y sus residuos, se presentan como producto y documento del ejercicio de la actividad al registrar cada momento de ejecución plástica, mostrando la evidencia del accionar sobre su superficie.
